Education and Training

I grew up in Kuwait.

I studied in Cologne-Germany (Medical Diploma 20.12.1976). During my study, I was a permanent Volunteer at the department of Neurosurgery in Cologne (Prof Tönnis and Prof Frowein) and in the central university laboratory.

1979                   Licensed as a medical practitioner.

 

I did my specialisation residency in different Hospitals:
University of Freiburg, General Hospital Saarlouis, General Hospital Grossburgwedel, General Hospital Lehrte .

 

1984     Certificate as Specialist in General Surgery - master’s degree equivalent. (This is the highest grade of postgraduate medical training obtainable by specialist doctors in the Federal Republic of Germany). 

 

1984-1988: Specialised education and consultant at the department for Hand- and reconstructive surgery in Hannover. (Dr Gadzali)

 

For three years, I worked as a rescue doctor (helicopters and mobile intensive care units) as full-time job.

               

1989-2004:        Founder and Director of an outpatient surgical clinic in Hamburg - It was one of the first of its kind in Germany.

Since 2005:        Consultant for Interventional Pain Therapy, Hand and Foot surgery in private practice. Visiting consultant at hospitals in Germany, Europe and Kuwait as an Instructor for interventional Pain therapy techniques.

 

2009-2015:        Visiting consultant in Kuwait.

Since 2023         Retired from treating Humans in hospitals

Since 2015         I am active in veterinary medicine - implanting and developing devices for Horses and Dogs.

My main field of activity was chronic untreatable pain syndromes.  Hand- and Foot surgery. For the past 19 years, international activities as a consultant, congress presentations and instructor in the field of interventional pain therapy. 

Till 2023 Human medicine.

Since 2015 Dogs and Horses

Interventional Pain Therapy for Dogs. Most interventional techniques usually applied in humans are mostly unknown in veterinary medicine. The outcome of our experience is very promising. In this field, I am still active.

Treatment of Horses: Spinal stenosis and Kissing spine syndromes in Horses. In this field, I have developed new techniques. Also, here I am still active.
